British Science Week 2026 celebrates the theme “Curiosity: What’s Your Question?”—a brilliant reminder that every great discovery begins with a simple moment of wonder. Children are naturally curious: they ask Why is the sky blue?, How do rockets fly?, Why do magnets stick? and What would happen if…? This year’s theme encourages pupils to embrace those questions and see them as the starting point for exploration, investigation and discovery.
Our hands-on primary school science workshops are designed to turn that natural curiosity into meaningful learning. Through exciting experiments, surprising demonstrations and interactive challenges, pupils become young investigators—making predictions, testing ideas and discovering the science behind the world around them. Rather than simply being given answers, children are encouraged to explore their own questions, develop hypotheses and see what happens when they put their ideas to the test.
Each workshop is carefully designed to enhance and enrich classroom learning by bringing science to life in a memorable, practical way. By linking experiments to real-world phenomena and key curriculum topics, we help pupils deepen their understanding of scientific concepts while also building essential skills such as critical thinking, observation and problem solving. The hands-on nature of the activities ensures that every child is actively involved, helping them to engage more deeply with the subject and retain what they learn long after the workshop has finished.
Our sessions also create a supportive environment where curiosity is celebrated. Pupils are encouraged to ask questions, share ideas and work collaboratively to investigate different outcomes. This not only strengthens their scientific understanding but also builds confidence, resilience and a positive attitude towards learning. When children realise that their questions are valued and that exploration is part of the process, they begin to see themselves as scientists.
By combining exciting interactive experiments and plenty of opportunities for questioning and discussion, our workshops transform British Science Week into an unforgettable learning experience. Most importantly, they help children understand that science isn’t just about knowing the right answers—it’s about having the curiosity to ask the next question….!
