Acids and Alkalis

Lots of practical testing to discover Acids and Alkalis all around us. What happens when you add an acid to an alkali?

Children learn about acids and alkalis and the pH scale. They use kitchen cupboard items to discover how to make a simple indicator solution. Then its Ready Steady and Off we go – to attempt Neutralisation.

Wow moments make for memorable science, especially for children. In one experiment just a few drops of lemon juice changes their purple potion to bright red. As the photographs show, children become completely absorbed with their scientific investigations.

Acids and ALkalis At Home

We understand that children love to follow up and do their own investigations at home. So we make sure they get to take indicator paper home so they can do even more of their own experiments.
