Solar Mars Rover

Solar Mars Rover is on a mission to Mars. Investigate how much energy is needed to travel, testing different voltages to measure distance travelled.

The Solar Mars Rover workshop uses the power of the sun to explore the surface of another planet – just as our scientists are doing currently. This workshop is packed full of opportunities for keen young scientists to adjust and test their buggies. They have to plot distance travelled against energy delivered to the buggy. The final activity is competitive – they have to land their buggy closest to the target. The only way to win is to have accurate data and be able to use prediction for the final attempt. This workshop is a fun way to make Maths relevant.
