How fantastic Juliet was during the week visit to Germany

"I would just like to take the opportunity to say how fantastic Juliet was during the week visit to Germany. She was without doubt outstanding in supporting the events and contributed to a hugely successful visit where we provided a STEM Day to 399 students in Germany. Please pass on my sincere thanks to her. I know it was a long week away with lots of miles travelled and back to back events but it was an absolute pleasure to work with her and I look forward to doing so again in the future." Praise does not get higher than that for our workshop leaders. Well done Juliet!

Efficient Design in Strong Structures Challenge

Strong Structures really got my students working together. Having to “buy” the paper got them thinking about efficient design. With lots of different opinions, they had to collaborate to agree a solution. The concentration on their faces when they added helicopters was priceless.

Secondary STEM Challenge Day

‘Please pass on my thanks to Mark, Paul and Angela. They delivered an outstanding day to our year 9 students today, and we had a blast doing it! Mark hooked everyone in early, creating a real context for delivering aid or supplies..he nailed teamworking, transferable skills and encouraged everyone to engage and be part of it. The starting challenge was tough for many groups, but with a little nudging, or looking at those who were getting started, they took small steps and went on from there. It was excellent to see some students who may not have chosen to work together making an effort on a team enterprise and resolve any differences that they had. Our Assistant Headteacher Stan Bedwell ...was pleased with how into the activity the students were, and that they were enjoying it....as promoting technical routes, aspiration and the STEM agenda into employment, education and training are areas we want to develop. For me the excellent planning, contextualisation and delivery was right on all levels.
